Procedure

Start of Period.

Blood test and scan.

Consultation 

• A scheduled time for the couple at the Bangkok Clinic.
• Upon arrival, patient will be registered at the clinic. This will require the couple to provide information about the marriage certificate.
• After registration, female patient will have to be taken.
• Blood tests will be No fasting is required. Blood tests results will take approximately 1 and a half hours.
• Couple will then meet with Doctor who will perform ultrasound to check uterus and ovaries. Doctor will then discuss results of blood tests and ultrasound and discuss treatment options. If all tests results are acceptable, the start of stimulation treatment and medications.
• Medications and dose will be explained and how to use the injections.
• Patient can be self-injections or can attend clinic at set times for nurses to administer medications.
• Follow up will be scheduled for 4-5 days later after commencement

• Follow up consultation at clinic with Doctor.
• Blood test for hormone levels.
• If the follicles have reached 10mm in size, an additional medication will be added into the daily injection schedule. This drug is an antagonist drug (Cetrotide) and is used to prevent premature ovulation of eggs from the follicles.
• Follow up appointment will be scheduled for a further 2-3 days.

Egg stimulation day 6 (FSH) + Cetrotide

Egg stimulation day 7 (FSH) + Cetrotide

Egg stimulation day 8 (FSHJ) + Cetrotide 

• Follow up consultation at clinic with Doctor.
• Blood test for hormone levels.
• Doctor will discuss hormone therapy and recommend injections

Egg stimulation day 9 (FSH) + Cetrotide

Egg stimulation day 10 (FSH) + Cetrotide 

• Follow up consultation at clinic with Doctor.
• Blood test for hormone levels.
• If follicle growth is consistent and the majority of folks are around 16-17mm, the final injection (hCG) will be instructed. The trigger is the final step of the stimulation process.
• If the size of follicles is smaller, stimulation injections (FSH + Cetrotide) will continue and follow up scheduled for 2 days.
  Note: Timing of the final trigger injection is critical and MUST be followed exactly. The OPU is scheduled for 36 hours post the trigger injection.

No further injection required. 

• The egg collection requires anaesthesia so the woman should take nothing by mouth after midnight and no water the 6-8 hours prior to the oocyte pick up.

The day after OPU is defined as Day 1 of embryos culture. This day will show how many of the eggs injected with fertilized (2PN) ie how many embryos have have culture.

• Couple can return home and all results will be communicated by Customer Service via email or text.

Day 2 of embryo development.

• Embryos are not assessed on the day to keep the embryos

Day 3 of embryo development.

• Embryos are not assessed on the day to keep the embryos

Day 4 of embryo development.

• Embryos are not assessed on the day to keep the embryos

Day 5 of embryo development.

• If the blastocyst stage and have good expansion, they are eligible for embryo biopsy and / or freezing
• Any embryos that have not reached the suitable blastocyst stage, these can be cultured to day 6 for re-assessment. • Freezing and PGS report will be sent

Day 6 of embryo development.

• The final day of embryo development.
• If the blastocyst stage and have good expansion, they are eligible for embryo biopsy and / or freezing
• Any embryos that have not reached the blastocyst stage or are not suitable, these embryos will be discarded
• Freezing report, PGS report and final report

* Note: On day 6, the final embryo transfer can be organized.

Start of period

Start taking hormone progynova pill as instructed. The dose is dependent on body weight, height and BMI. Progynova is used to thicken the endometrium of the uterus.
* Note: Depending on BMI, normal dose of Progynova is 2 tablets, 2 times per day

• Progynova is taken for approximately 13 days and then female blood tests (for estradiol and progesterone) and ultrasound

• Doctor will advise and plan for next steps and when to travel to Bangkok for Embryo Transfer

If the result from blood tests and ultrasound is acceptable, female patient will start progesterone for final preparation of the endometrium and arrange travel to Bangkok.

• If results are acceptable, Frozen Embryo Transfer will be scheduled
• If blood results and / or endometrial thickness is not acceptable

Couple or female patient can return home to arrange pregnancy test or canremain in Bangkok until pregnancy test, an additional ten (10) days post transfer

Blood test for pregnancy (BhCG + Progesterone)

• If result is positive, patient is Pregnant
• Doctor will review pregnancy hormone levels and advise next steps in pregnancy and may adjust medication doses
• Can be arranged for 6-7 weeks

* Note: If blood test is arranged back in the region, please send a copy of result to clini

• If result is negative, patient is Not Pregnant
• Please arrange consultation with Doctor in home region or in Bangkok Clinic at the right cost Bangkok for review and recommendation for next cycle

Instructions after embryo transfer

• No sexual intercourse. Some evidence to suggest sperm into the uterus.
• You can move and walk around as normal
• You can sleep in normal comfortable position
• Do not lift or carry heavy items
• Do not eat strong foods ie too spicy; too salty; and avoid potentially = high risk foods that may cause food poisoning
• Light exercise recommended; no intensity exercise such as running.
• Avoid sitting or swimming in water hot baths
• Remember to take medications on the scheduled days and times. It is important that continuous application of maintaining the uterus for ongoing pregnancy.
• Do not drink coconut water
• Try and enjoy a stress free and relaxed environment, low stress.
